Is Mental Toughness Essential to a thriving organisation?
Let’s talk Mental Toughness in the workplace…
Neuroscience tells us through neuroplasticity, that, “You’re not stuck with the brain you’re born with. You may be given certain genes but what you do in your life changes your brain. And that’s the magic wand.” Neuroplasticity, allows you to change your life and make happiness a reality. You can go from being a victim to a victor. It’s like a superpower!
Mental toughness is the same it’s a plastic trait, there are times when you will be more mentally tough than others, BUT and it’s a big but, you can learn it, work on it and become it.
Here at TWPC, we look at your organisation’s mental toughness through a self awareness measure that is emailed to all participants in the first instance. From this, we can give you a company report that shows you how your organisation is performing in terms of wellbeing & mental toughness across four measures.
Life Control – I really believe in myself I can do it
Emotional Control – I can manage my emotions& the emotions of others
Goal orientation – I set goals & like the idea of working for goals
Achievement Orientation – I do what it takes to keep promises & achieve goals
Risk Orientation – I stretch myself, welcoming new and different experiences
Learning Orientation – I learn from whatever happens, including setbacks
In Abilities – I believe I have the ability to do it, or can acquire the ability.
Interpersonal Confidence – I can influence others
These 8 subsections give you a clear picture of what is going on for an individual and across the organisation, scored across 1-10 it’s easy to identify problem areas and areas that need work, through group or individual coaching.
