Assess – The Risk
As an employer, you have a Government legal obligation to a duty of care and risk assessment outlined in the HSE Guidelines and Management Standards directives. Every employer is legally bound to do a risk assessment which must include the Mental Health of Employees.
How do you do this effectively and efficiently? Stevenson Farmer ‘Thriving at work’ report identifies the cost of poor mental health per capita by sector which you can use our ready reckoner on the front page to work out for your Company. This uses the average cost per head and the number of employees to identify the annual cost of poor mental health to you for the next year if you don’t address it now.
This can be hundreds of thousands of pounds a fraction of what our solution will be! The cost is made up of Presenteeism – which equates to 50% of the total cost of poor mental health in your organisation. Caused by a lack of emotional engagement and stress/pressure due to mental sensitivity. Poor compliance, leading to litigation and Health and Safety contraventions, high levels of sickness absence – lost days reduce productivity that put extra strain on other members of staff contributing to high attrition – staff turnover and possible mutiny and staff mobilisation. All this contributes to poor customer advocacy, lower profits and damaged reputations/brand.
We will help you to identify the cost of the risk and indicate where or what it stems from to create an outline business case with the potential returns associated.
Assess – Levels of Mental Toughness/Resilience
Mental Health and resilience levels are determined to a great extent by an individual’s levels of Mental Resilience, the ability to push through difficulties and embrace challenges with drive, focus and excellence. Mental Toughness can be developed and accounts for 25% of an individual’s performance. The Wellbeing and Performance Company have partnered with the recognised global leaders in the evidence-based, design and assessment of Mental Toughness in the world and employ their renown suite of Assessments to establish individual and group levels of Mental Resilience across the 4 Key competencies and their Sub-scales along with situational and role capabilities as defined as proven best practice in research and study trials.
Advise – Specific areas of Mental Toughness and Mental Sensitivity
Team members are given their own report, detailing their levels of Mental Toughness. This starts the process of transition/transformation. Up to 10% increase in wellbeing and 25% productivity & performance can be expected just though this part of the intervention and with follow up coaching this will be further improved upon.
The Organisation is given an organisational level report on the Mental Toughness profile of their workforce. This provides further insight into the cultural issues and strengths of an Organisation or specific parts of it.
We can share with you quantitative and qualitative data so a bespoke session of intervention can be tailored to your individual wellbeing needs be that for an individual or company-wide?
